Orbit the fence before you order

Rotate, zoom, and switch materials. The 3D engine loads only when you ask, so this page stays fast.

What the 3D model shows

The visualizer builds a fence from the same dimensions you enter in the calculator: linear feet, height, material, and gate count. It is not a photograph or a downloaded model. Posts, rails, pickets, and gates are generated in the browser, so the preview changes immediately when you change a field.

How to use it

  1. Set the fence length and height. The default is 60 ft at 6 ft high.
  2. Pick a material: wood, vinyl, chain link, or aluminum.
  3. Choose 0, 1, or 2 gates. Each gate is modeled as a 4 ft opening.
  4. Press Load 3D model, then drag to orbit and scroll or pinch to zoom.
  5. Use the Angle, Front, and Top buttons to reset the camera.

What the model includes

PartHow it is modeledWhat to check in real life
Posts8 ft spacing, with gate postsFrost depth, soil, slope, and local code
RailsTwo rails for wood, vinyl, and aluminum; one top rail for chain linkWind load, material span, and fastener corrosion
Pickets or barsGenerated from the selected material and bay widthActual picket width, gap, and manufacturer specs
Gate4 ft frame, diagonal brace, and handleOpening width, hinge swing, and latch clearance
GroundFlat lawn planeSlope, drainage, and retaining needs

What the 3D preview does not do

  • It does not survey your property line or check setbacks.
  • It does not model slopes, rocks, tree roots, or drainage.
  • It does not calculate wind load, frost depth, or structural spans.
  • It does not replace a permit drawing or a contractor quote.

Use the preview to sanity-check the look and the quantity. Use thefence cost calculator for the budget, and the material calculator for the buy list.

Next step

Once the length, height, material, and gate count look right, open the cost calculator with the same dimensions. It adds labor, gates, removal, permits, and a state labor index. If you are still choosing a material, read the full fence cost guide first.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 3D fence visualizer free?

Yes. The visualizer and every calculator on the site are free, with no account or email. The 3D engine loads only when you press the button, so the page stays fast.

Does the 3D model include gates?

Yes. Choose 0, 1, or 2 gates. A gate is modeled as a 4 ft opening with a frame, diagonal brace, and handle. Gate placement is fixed at the end of the run for this preview; the cost calculator lets you price the gate separately.

Can I use the 3D view on my phone?

Yes. Drag to orbit and pinch to zoom. If your browser cannot start WebGL, the page shows a fallback message and the fence quantities still work.

Are the dimensions exact?

No. The preview uses 8 ft post spacing, a 4 ft gate, and a simplified rail/picket layout. It is a planning visual, not a survey or a construction drawing. Confirm property lines, slope, frost depth, and local codes before you build.

Why does the 3D model load on a button?

The Three.js bundle is about 150 KB compressed. Loading it only when requested keeps the page fast for everyone else and avoids downloading a 3D engine you may not use.

Can I see the cost for this fence?

Use the fence cost calculator for material, labor, gates, removal, permits, and a state labor index. The 3D page gives you the visual and quantity check; the calculator gives you the budget range.
